UN representative visits Brovina in prison

NIS, Friday - The head of the UN High Commission for Human Rights in
Yugoslavia, Barbara Davis, today visited the president of the League of
Albanian Women, Flora Brovina, in prison. Brovina, a physician and
humanitarian worker, has been in prison for several months awaiting trial on
charges of terrorist activities. A statement today from Belgrade NGO "Women
in Black" reported that representatives of the Swedish and Norwegian
embassies and several local NGOs had visited Brovina

OTPOR
Student activists on criminal charges

SMEDEREVO, Friday - Several members of the student movement Otpor would face
criminal prosecutions for writing slogans and symbols of the organisation on
buildings in Smederevo, police said today. Police representatives told media
in Smederevo that the activists had damaged buildings, fences and doorways
in
the town with spray paint.

Six Otpor members were arrested in Smederevo two days ago after staging a
public protest against Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.

SMEDEREVO, Saturday -- Six students from the student movement Otpor appeared
in court in Smederevo today charged with defacing public property in
Smederevo. The students were arrested three days ago after staging a public
protest against the regime in the town center. The protest was stopped by
police and the students arrested for writing Otpor slogans on various
buildings in the town.

Police stop rock concert in Bor

BOR, Sunday - At least one person was arrested when police stopped a rock
concert given by the group Sunshine in Bor last night. The police entered
the
club where the concert was being held, searched all fans, asked them to
vacate the club and made a full search of the premises. The concert forms
part of a tour by the band organised by ANEM, entitled "it isn't human to
keep quiet". The concert resumed after an hour.

B2 92 receives award in Dortmund

DORTMUND,
 Radio B2 92 was presented with a prestigious award for its
contribution to independent journalism in Dortmund last night. This is the
first time this award has been given to the foreign media. B2 92 editor in
chief Sasa Mirkovic was in Dortmund to receive the award and expressed his
thanks and satisfaction that B2 92 is again regaining its position after
being closed down and repossessed by the regime in Belgrade six months ago.
