Corporate governance and globalisation-related e-mail resources, version 1.0
This resource list will be posted to various e-mail lists few times a year.
Continuously updated versions will be available at

Due to their speed and cheap price, different organisations and movements
working with corporate governance, globalization and multinational
development banks have adopted e-mail as their main communication channel.
There is dozens of lists on these themes available, and it is not very easy
to hold on the current development since lists are coming and going all the
time.
This resource list has been made to make handling of the huge information
stream at least a bit more easier. Maintaining a perfect list is propably
impossible, but we try to be as comprehensive as possible, also including
lists of regional campaigns and campaigns of single language groups in
appendix - if due to amount of lists available this becomes impossible,
there lists will be collected to parallel resource lists. We are not
interested to list lists of particular organisations which include lots of
mail mostly interesting for actives of the organisation, but dragging the
limit is often difficult.

PerpÈtuitÈ, telle a ÈtÈ la sentence prononcÈe par le tribunal de Hambourg
contre lhan Yelkuvan pour le meurtre d'Erol K., membre du groupe fasciste
turc des 'Loups Gris'. PlacÈ en rÈgime d'isolement, le dÈtenu observe une
grËve de la faim depuis 50 jours. Depuis, quatre autres dÈtenus turcs font
de mÍme.

En Allemagne, le rÈgime de l'isolement est une vÈritable torture mentale.
La cellule de Yelkuvan est complËtement peinte en blanc, petite fenÍtre y
compris. RÈguliËrement, elle est fouillÈe, les objets personnels retirÈs ou
dÈtruits. Le dÈtenu n'a qu'une heure de promenade par jour, entre 4 et 5 h
du matin. Il ne peut recevoir de revues ou journaux politiques et son droit
de visite est sÈvËrement limitÈ.
La requÍte introduite par l'avocat de Yelkuvan en vue de mettre un terme au
rÈgime d'isolement de son client a ÈtÈ refusÈe. Motif: il risquerait de
gagner d'autres dÈtenus aux idÈes du DHKP-C, une organisation turque de
gauche.
Par solidaritÈ, plus de 1.300 dÈtenus politiques en Turquie ont fait une
grËve de la faim du 11 au 14 janvier. Ils estiment qu'il est 'lÈgitime de
s'insurger contre le rÈgime fasciste qui sÈvit en Turquie, contre
l'oppression, l'exploitation et l'appauvrissement du peuple, ainsi que
contre les livraisons d'armes et le soutien Èconomique du gouvernement
allemand ý la Turquie.'
La Turquie est en effet trËs importante pour l'Occident, sur les plans
stratÈgique, militaire et Èconomique. C'est pourquoi le gouvernement
rose-vert de Berlin caresse volontiers les gÈnÈraux fascistes turcs dans le
sens du poil.

et de la nation turcs (article 169 du Code pÈnal turc et 5 de la loi

Nazmi G¸r est passible díune peine de 3 ý 7,5 ans de prison.
LíObservatoire est vivement prÈoccupÈ par cette nouvelle
procÈdure initiÈe ý líencontre díun autre membre de líIHD ; son
PrÈsident, Akin Birdal a fait líobjet díune condamnation
aujourdíhui dÈfinitive en 1999 (Cf appels urgents TUR
003/9807/OBS 056; 056.01; 056.02; 056.03; 056.04;
056.05). Tant que la Turquie continuera de poursuivre
notamment les dÈfenseurs des droits de líHomme au seul motif
de leur activitÈ, elle ne pourra prÈtendre intÈgrer líUnion
europÈenne au sein de laquelle le respect de la libertÈ
díexpression et díopinion est un principe ÈlÈmentaire.
En outre, líObservatoire considËre que ces poursuites
contreviennent de faÁon flagrante ý la DÈclaration sur les
dÈfenseurs des droits de líHomme adoptÈe le 9 dÈcembre 1998
par líAssemblÈe gÈnÈrale des Nations Unies, et notamment ý
son article 6 qui prÈvoit que ´ chacun a le droit, individuellement
ou en association avec díautres [...], de publier, communiquer ý
autrui ou diffuser librement des idÈes, informations et
connaissances sur tous les droits de líHomme et toutes les
libertÈs fondamentales ª.
Actions demandÈes:
Merci díÈcrire aux autoritÈs turques afin de leur demander de :
i. faire en sorte que le droit ý un procËs Èquitable soit respectÈ ;
ii. prendre les mesures nÈcessaires pour proposer des
amendements lÈgislatifs qui síimposent au regard de la
Convention europÈenne des droits de líHomme et de la libertÈ
díopinion et díexpression quíelle proclame pour que soit
supprimÈes du dispositif lÈgislatif turc les
articles 169 du Code pÈnal et 5 de la loi anti-terreur.
iii. se conformer aux dispositions de la DÈclaration sur les
dÈfenseurs des droits de líHomme adoptÈe par líAssemblÈe
gÈnÈrale des Nations Unies le 9 dÈcembre 1998, et notamment
ý son article 6 qui stipule que ´ chacun a le droit,
individuellement ou en association avec díautres [...], de publier,
communiquer ý autrui ou diffuser librement des idÈes,
informations et connaissances sur tous les droits de líHomme et
toutes les libertÈs fondamentales ª ;
iv. se conformer, plus gÈnÈralement, aux dispositions de la
DÈclaration universelle des droits de líHomme et des pactes
internationaux relatifs aux droits de líHomme qui lient la Turquie.

5. SUISSE : STOP OGM
MANIPULER LE VIVANT ?
Les animaux, les vÈgÈtaux peuplant notre planËte sont le fruit d'un lent
processus d'Èvolution qui a durÈ quatre milliards d'annÈes. Toutes les
informations issues de cette Èvolution et nÈcessaires au dÈveloppement des
organismes sont stockÈes sous forme de gËnes dans l'ADN.
Au contraire de cette Èvolution naturelle, le gÈnie gÈnÈtique gÈnËre des
modifications trËs rapides des Ítres vivants. Le gÈnie gÈnÈtique est une
approche rÈductrice qui ne prend pas en compte la complexitÈ du vivant.
Les manipulations gÈnÈtiques, en mÈlangeant des gËnes d'espËces diffÈrentes,
transgressent les barriËres naturelles qui existent dans la nature entre les
Ítres vivants supÈrieurs.
DES RISQUES INCALCULABLES
Toute dissÈmination d'organismes gÈnÈtiquement modifiÈs comporte de gros
risques. On sait par exemple qu'un patrimoine gÈnÈtique Ètranger peut se
transmettre aux espËces sauvages parentes et ý leur descendance. Il est
impossible de pronostiquer avec certitude les consÈquences qui rÈsulteraient
d'un l’cher d'OGM dans l'environnement. En effet, le risque biologique est
vivant, il peut donc se propager et se multiplier.
Lorsqu'on constatera que les OGM peuvent provoquer des catastrophes
environnementales, ils ne pourront plus Ítre retirÈs de l'environnement.
C'EST POURQUOI STOPogm EXIGE QUE L'AGRICULTURE SOIT EXEMPTE D'ORGANISMES
GŠNŠTIQUEMENT MODIFIŠS.
Comme l'air pur et l'esu propre, les aliments sains constituent l'un des
fondements de notre existence. Pourtant, notre vie quotidienne est envahie
de cÈrÈales, levures, enzymes, vitamines et autres produits gÈnÈtiquement
modifiÈs, alors que leur inocuitÈ n'a pas ÈtÈ prouvle ý ce jour. Le
consommateur devient cobaye malgrÈ lui.
De nombreux citoyens refusent cet Ètat de fait et souhaitent que leurs
inquiÈtudes soient prises en considÈration. STOPogm S'OPPOSE FERMEMENT ˆ
TOUTE COMMERCIALISATION D'ALIMENTS CONTENANT DES ORGANISMES GŠNŠTIQUEMENT
MODIFIŠS.
IL FAUT AGIR !
. Les inquiÈtudes manifestÈes par l'opinion publique sont lÈgitimes :
l'application sans concession du PRINCIPE DE PRŠCAUTION doit Ítre la rÈponse
des politiques et des scientifiques. C'est aussi la revendication premiËre
de STOPogm.
. Nous demandons que s'instaure un vÈritable dÈbat public sur les OGM et
leurs implications dans la vie. L'avis de la population doit Ítre
impÈrativement respectÈ.
. La constitution de monopoles par les multinationales agro-alimentaires
menace la sÈcuritÈ alimentaire mondiale. Il faut la dÈnoncer.
. La mobilisation mondiale des ONG, des citoyens et des consommateurs
contre les OGM a dÈjý portÈ des fruits avec l'abandon du procÈdÈ
"Terminator" dÈveloppÈ par Monsanto. CETTE OPPOSITION DOIT TRE RELAYŠE AU
NIVEAU LOCAL. STOPogm S'EN CHARGE.
QUE VEUT STOPogm ?
STOPogm s'est constituÈe pour dÈfendre une alimentation et une agriculture
sans organismes gÈnÈtiquement modifiÈs.
Nous demandons de RENONCER ˆ TOUT ALIMENT ET ˆ TOUT FOURRAGE ISSUE DE
MANIPULATIONS GŠNŠTIQUES EN SUISSE. Comme Ètapes intermÈdiaires pour
parvenir ý ce but, nous exigeons :
. Un moratoire immÈdiat sur la dissÈmination de plantes ou d'animaux
gÈnÈtiquement modifiÈs.
. Un moratoire immÈdiat sur la commercialisation de produits contenant des
OGM, tant pour l'alimentation humaine qu'animale.
. Des filiËres alimentaires garanties, exemptes de manipulations gÈnÈtiques
et, au minimum, un Ètiquetage clair de tout produit, brut ou transformÈ,
contenant ou ayant contenu des OGM lors du processus de fabrication, mÍme en
quantitÈ trËs faible.
. L'accËs aux rÈsultats des analyses, Ètudes et rapports d'experts relatifs
aux OGM, y compris ceux des producteurs d'OGM.
